![]() Best of luck.Īnother user made a very good and important point that I want to reiterate, which was to think about your degree/planning in case your goal of getting into medicine does not work out. ![]() To conclude, I think you should slow down and look at your immediate next steps and really learn what this whole thing is about. ![]() That’s not a reason to stop, but it’s important to further explore all of your opportunities, and what you might enjoy if you don’t end up training to be a physician. I would also advise you to be pragmatic, and prepare yourself for the possibility that you might not be accepted. I want to encourage you to pursue it with passion! I like that you’re asking for the perspectives of other undergrads and even med students, it’s good to get real life stories about what the life is like and if it’s right for you. You can then begin to explore if medicine is the right career for you, and the steps that would be involved in applying. I think these should be these next foundational steps that you should focus on for the foreseeable future. You find out a lot about yourself during undergrad, how your work and study habits might shift to be able to maintain those marks, or what you’d like to get involved with for volunteering. You have yet to go to university, to see what a new academic level of learning entails, and how you have to grow and change to adapt to the challenges. ![]() I would caution you about setting unrealistic expectations about yourself as well as the journey to medical training, as there are a lot of things that you might not have considered. You’ve mentioned a few times that you’re quite young, and indeed in grade 12 it can certainly seem like a long and intimidating path to becoming a physician. ![]() I would sincerely advise you to reach out to a friend, mentor, or other help to maybe talk some of these things out. Coupled with your post history, it seems like you’re dealing with a lot of personal anxieties. Hey man, I’ve been seeing a few of your questions pop up and disappear here. ![]()
